Fortitude Foundation, Inc. was established on May 20, 2010, by the Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This 501©3 organization was formed to support community-based organizations in their efforts to transform lives and impact the community.

Currently, the Foundation contributes financial resources for programs, projects, and in particular, scholarships. Through its efforts, the Foundation provides information and resources that promote a high standard of living among the residents of the community it serves.

For more than ten years, the Foundation has been fortunate to build partnerships with several community organizations and secured resources to support their public service projects and other community initiatives.

We have partnered/supported the Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in a number of activities:
• Red Dress Luncheon which brings awareness about heart disease among women
• Red Diamond Gala which has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to eligible young students
• Women & Girls Conference which bridges the communication between mothers and daughters by encouraging constructive parent-child dialogue.

The Foundation has also volunteered with the Flags across America, Veteran Affairs Stand Down Events, and has partnered and volunteered with the ETV Endowment and SCETV, a statewide public station network, and has hosted a Women in Leadership: Called to Serve Forum.
